Science and technology used in transportation

There are multiple uses of convex and concave mirrors. One of the important use of convex mirror is this type of mirror is used as side mirrors in scooters, cars and in other automobile. Convex mirrors can form images of object spread over a larger area. So, these help the drivers to see the traffic behind them.
Such information should be given to the students while teaching sub- topic convex and concave mirrors from chapter " Light" of class VII.

Science and technology used in manufacturing process

In chapter "Fibre to fabric" of class VII, there is a process of converting fibres to wool. So while explaining that process students should be told about the latest machineries used in factories which involves less manual labour in converting fibre to wool. Machineries used in industries should be shown to the students through videos.

Science and technology in information and communication

While explaining the lesson "Sunita in space" class V, the students should be told about the satellite and their specific job. The different functions of satellite like to monitor cloud paterns for a weather station, to send television signals for t.v. etc.

Science, Energy and power technology

The conventional sources of energy are generally non renewable sources og energy, which are being used since a long time. the coal, petroleum, natural gas and electricity arw conventional sources of energy. so while explaining the lesson "conventional sources of energy" class IX, the students should be told how these fossil fuels like coal, petroleum can be used in thermal power plant where in fuel is burnt to produce heat energy ehich is converted into electrical energy. videos should be shown to the students for better understanding.

Science and technology in agriculture

Science and technology used in agriculture

While explaining the lesson "A seed tells a farmer's story' of class V, the students should be told about the hybrid seeds used in agriculture and gardening . These hybrid seeds are produced by cross- pollinating the plants and it is one of the main contributor to the dramatic rise in agricultural output.

Correlation of Science with other Subjects

Correlation of Science with other Subjects

Science is quite a complex and vast kind of subject, because of which the task of correlating it with other subjects of curriculum seems to be quite an easy task. Deliberate effort should be done by the science teacher to bring about co-relation in between the science and other subjects of the curriculum, which are being imparted to the students.
Through this, students will find the opportunity to relate the knowledge which they have already gained, with the knowledge which they are gaining. This kind of relation activity leads to development of interest among the students.

Science and Language
Although science is a practical subject, but it is very important for it's learners to be able to express their views and ideas in clear and attractive form. For this purpose, it is necessary that they should have thorough knowledge of language which they use. Student who does not have good control over the language cannot express his views and various scientific laws and principles in front of others and especially in front of teacher.
To co-relate science with language subjects, students can be asked to write essays on some scientific topic. If student make any kind of grammatical mistake, then the teacher can ask him to make correction in his language. Likewise, language teacher can give the task of writing about some scientific happening in the assignment designed for them. In this manner, he can correlate science with the language.

Science with Mathematics
Mathematics is considered to be sole language of science because of which real understanding of science is considered to be impossible without adequate knowledge of mathematics. Some of the useful mathematical concepts which are generally used in the science teaching are Algebraic equations, Geometrical formulas, Graphs etc.
Mathematical rules and theories are also applied in physics, in which no one can intend to take even single step without relying on the subject of mathematics.

Science and History
While mentioning about the various scientific discoveries taken place in the earlier periods, teacher can relate with the major events of the world history.
Students should be told about how the evolution took place over a period of time among the organisms while explaining the lesson "evolution and classification".
Teacher should narrate the incidences which inspired various scientists to found out the medical remedies of various diseases.

Analogy

Blood vessels are like highways

*Blood vessels helps in transportation of blood in our body. similarly, highways provide a smooth route for vehicular traffic.
*Blood carries food and oxygen which is transported to various parts of our body through blood vessels. Vehicular traffic carring people and goods are transported to various places through highways.
*Just as the highways have interconnections between states, in the same way, blood vessels are minutely connected through our circulatory system in our body.
*But, if highways are broken or damaged then they can be easily repaired but if our blood vessels like arteries get damaged or broken then it is very difficult to repair and it can even lead to death.

Wearable Sweat Detector

Tiny adhesive sensors can analyse what's happening in your body based on your sweat and transmit information about your well being wirelessly to a smartphone. This type of wearable sensor could eventually provide an alternative to blood tests.
